Ch-Ch-ch-ch-changes--Turn and Face the Strange
He's already asking for his "old life" back. When he didn't have the rules, the standing in line with your finger on your lips in the "hush" position, or sitting criss cross applesauce during storytime, and not being able to talk when you want to. "I wanna go back Mama, I don't want to grow up."
This was the face of anticipation on the first morning of kindergarten. He is so eager in the morning to go and even though it's been a tough 2 days for him learning what he can and can't do, he has awaken each morning looking forward to his classroom.
George and I are new to parenthood and when he came home the first day in the yellow we gave him a firm talking on behaving in class. The next day when he was in the yellow again we decided to unplug his lifeline....the television. Last night he sat in his bed reading a book and telling me he hated school. I don't want him to hate it already 3 days into it, so I told him of all the new skills he'll be learning and how school will shape him into the confident young man we know he'll become. "How many more years of school, Mama?" "Until you're 18 son." "Mama that's forever." I hope it does go by slow so I can savor every minute of it!
