Our New Addition

This our new rooster who Nathan calls "chicken". He has already chased him around the yard a few times and he crows nonstop in the early evening and early morning. It's nice to have a rooster back on the farm. A few years ago we had chickens, roosters and bitties and a terrible fox problem. We still have the fox, but we'll handle him when the time comes. I think "chicken" is savvy enough to stay away for a while but it won't last forever, hence the need to take care of the fox when we see him next. Over the next few weeks we are going to get "chicken" some companions and start collecting eggs again out of the coop.

There was an absolutely beautiful sunset last night I had to get a picture. There were over 50 geese in this corn field next to our house. They were coming in landing gracefully and honking loudly. It was a gorgeous site.
