Midweek Madness

Today was my 6 month checkup at the pancreatitis clinic at MCV. I took the children with me and plenty of things to occupy them and believe me I had to use every one of them before we got out of there. I was scheduled to be seen at 9:30 and didn't get back into a room until 10:20 and then waited another 20 minutes to see the NP. I brought balloons and blew two up so they could each have one. Nathan and I batted one back and forth while we waited and AnnaBelle watched and walked around talking on her play cell phone. I am going to be part of a research study on pancreatitis that the University of Pittsburgh is conducting on 1500 patients with various forms of pancreatitis. So bloodwork was taken from my mediport while the nurses tried to entertain the children. We finally made it home around 1:30.
We went out to the garden for a little while this afternoon and I picked more cucumbers and snaps. The butterbeans are filling out nicely and there are still blooms everywhere. We are planning another trip on the Nottoway to dig for sharks teeth again this weekend. Since the water is so low we are going to venture to another location where we have had great success in finding big complete teeth. We also found what is possibly a prehistoric bison horn at this spot and other bones. Hopefully we'll find a little something, either way just being on the river is soothing, relaxing fun!
