November's Arrival

It's that time of year again. The pecans are plentiful this year, too. I am shelling a few pounds a day and of course there are others in the house who enjoy them, too, so I have to stand guard sometimes!
Once I shell them I lay them out on the dining room to table to dry out some. I've made a few batches of cinnamon and sugar baked pecans but they don't last long.

Her favorite phrase right now, "No Mommy!" She is becoming more fiercely independent daily and testing her boundaries with me constantly. I have a feeling it's going to be that way for the unforeseeable future. Bring it on, this is what I signed up for, albeit later in life, but that just makes it sweeter!

Ah the infamous washout. Since they picked the cotton Nathan and AB have been on riding adventures around the farm with their Daddy. This is their favorite stop. With the deluge of rain we had a month or so ago, a washout has been created at the back of the field near the house. The kiddies love playing in the sand, it almost looks like he's sitting on a beach.

He's caught a cold that has kept him home today and probably tomorrow. Trying to keep the temp down and he has a horrible sounding cough. A rub down with Vics tonight and some nighttime cough med and he was out early. Sure hope he is feeling better tomorrow.
