Giving Thanks and Being Thankful Always

No that isn't snow, it's leftover cotton in the front field. We've been gathering what pecans have fallen off my "money" tree, but there are still so many left to fall way way up there. We've shook every branch within an arm or ladder's reach. It's now time to move on to the smaller ones, just have to run the blower to remove the leaves. The smaller type are very good and perfect for decoration. George might have me a lead on a woman who can use them for decorative baking. It has been a profitable year for my pecans.




We celebrated Nathan's birthday a week early and had a bowling party in Franklin. It was a wonderful afternoon, everyone had a great time and it was the first time many of these kids had ever bowled, including Nathan. They gave me a party coordinator and she was spectacular. I didn't have to do a thing but sit back and take pictures. She helped them bowl, brought them their food, helped them with a pinata and was worth every penny. What an asset she is to the bowling center. If you choose to have a kids bowling party and live locally, do it here and ask for Wendy as your coordinator.

He wanted a bowling cake to stay with the theme. Farm Fresh made a nice cake. He is turning 6 and I still find myself in shock at how quickly time flies. But I'm savoring every minute of it, that's for sure!

These 2 along with my hubby are my reason for waking each day despite some days of uncertainty. They give me that added boost of "go juice" to make mr. pancreas behave himself.

He's only acted up a few times this year and for that I am forever grateful. November is Pancreatic Cancer and Diseases Awareness Month and our ribbon is purple, our band states "courage". Research is lacking but we are making progress in awareness.

Another Thanksgiving is upon us and again we gather with family to enjoy good company and food. 2010 has been an interesting year. Many milestones were reached; Nathan graduated from preschool and entered kindergarten and AnnaBelle found her voice, opinion and independence within our household. So this Thanksgiving when there is so much uncertainty in the world, I know for certain that I am blessed everyday beyond belief.
