A Break in Winter's Cold Grip on Woodland

The weather was so warm today reaching 61 on the farm. It has been in the 20's and 30's for two weeks straight so we took advantage of the beautiful afternoon and did as much as possible.
While Nathan climbed the trees and kicked the soccer ball, AnnaBelle was content digging in the dirt, and of course tasting a little bit. It has been a while since she's been able to eat a little dirt!

Nathan also tried out his skateboard and I was surprised at how much practice inside on the carpet helped him when he tried it on concrete. He really likes skateboarding and by playing one of his (mine) ds games he knows who the legend Tony Hawk is and tries to emulate him.

This is our pond on the back of the farm and last Sunday we all took a trip down there to skate and slide around. The water is only a couple of inches near the bank and up to ten inches near the tree stumps so I wasn't TOO (lie) concerned when we all got out there to play. Yes I was a nervous wreck everytime AnnaBelle took off.

She is getting as fast as lightning and doesn't walk anywhere, preferring to run. Yes I think I have a future athlete on my hands with this one. And it looks like she is going to be a lefty, just like her Mom (and Dad).

Ushering in 2010 with Cold, Windy, Blustery Days!

I took down the tree in the upstairs hallway and moved the kitchenette and tea table set from the music room. This is as clean as its going to look for a while, I guarantee it. They have both enjoyed playing with it and AnnaBelle has had several tea parties with her little doll and a couple of stuffed animals.
We made some crafts today. I let him be as creative as he wanted. I started by giving him a blank piece of paper and then asking what he wanted to use on it. I would pull out what he told me and he came up with quite a design, well, truly one only a mother would love!

But it's the quality time spent together that is the true time well spent. It's our alone time when AnnaBelle is napping and he can have me all to himself. I do cherish these moments because I am learning how quickly they grow up. My little man is already 5 and will be starting kindergarten in the Fall. Yeesh!!

Crayola Beginnings has a winner on their hands. The "Color Me a Song" is one of the most creative toys to come along in a while for the age group. She has done more scribbling in the past few days than she has ever been exposed to. And a HUGE thank you to the inventor of washable crayons. They are a timesaver!! So on a scale of 1 to 5 stars (5 being the best) I would give it a 5! Easy to get out of the box, which these days for a toy is a chore in itself, and a good buy for the price!

So we welcome 2010 we open arms and the hope for a happy, healthy and prosperous year to everyone!
