Under the Pecan Trees

So thats how the models do it........ YIKES!

Little Miss AnnaBelle Farrar and i took a stroll down the lane this afternoon while the boys slept and i took this pic of her underneath our favorite pecan tree. I might not have told you that we have over 20 pecan trees that line the lane coming up to the house. This year's crop looks like it will be productive with several trees producing after taking last year off.

Home on the Range

It's nice to take a vacation but it's so comforting to come back home. The week flew by for Jorge at work. Yesterday we took these pics outside at sunset.

Fun In WV

The entire family had a memorable week in the mountains. The highs were in the 60's and the lows in the morning were in the low 40's. Perfect weather to remind you that Fall is right around the corner. Our side of the Parsons will be hosting the event next year and we plan to cook boston butts and have rides and games for the kids. We can hardly wait. Here is little Miss AnnaBelle Farrar cooing and laughing for us.

Fun Afternoon on a Beautiful Day

Pictures from earlier today......

Olympic Ceremonies Begin

Been watching the opening ceremonies, found a feed this morning with pics and narration but it's not doing justice to seeing it on the tv tonight. I'll have to hand it to the Chinese....spectacular opening ceremonies, such precision and timing and the amount of people, 15,000 in all in synchronizing fashion. Unbelievable.

Tag-25

I am.......... glad i haven't been in the hospital in almost a year.
I know...... that i have to be realistic and the possibility is there.
I want....... my children to grow up happy and full of self-confidence.
I wish....... my mother was alive to see them grow up.
I'm glad... that my father will.
I hate....... people who litter.
I miss...... my mom's smile.
I fear....... any type of snake!
I feel....... blessed to have my children and husband
I crave... a kick-ass dinner from Outback.
I search... the night skies for satellites and often find them.
I wonder.. if there is a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow.
I love..... to cuddle with my kids and husband in our bed.
I ache.... for my Mom's voice.
I always.. hold the door open for old people.
I dance... like a fool with my son to 80's music.
I sing... to my little girl and she smiles.
I don't always.. return clothes that don't fit me ordered off the internet.
I write....... several online blogs and journals.
I never...... forget to tell my kids i love them.
I listen...... when i should be hearing, sometimes.
I am scared.... slightly when a big thunderstorm approaches.
I think...... my kids will be taller than me.
I hope...... one or both play a sport for the love of it.
I care....... about people's feelings.

Welcome Back

I'm gonna give blogspot another try after a failed attempt a couple of years ago. My last post on another page was back in April of '07 and boy has alot changed since. Jorge's new job and all that entails and of course the addition of little Miss AnnaBelle Farrar to the gang. Our family feels complete. Nathan will be 4 in November and is a great big brother to his baby sis'. Ellie is Queen of the Hill, still and has been the Great Protector to the children even on these hot summer days.
Little rain this afternoon left the garden still begging for more. We rec'd a quarter of an inch and believe me i'll take anything i can get out there, but we will be replanting snaps and butterbeans and utilizing the well in between the smokehouse and root cellar.
I should let you know that we live on a good size farm in Virginia 400 acres of land with a good portion of that farmed. This year we have planted corn, soybeans, cotton, and peanuts. A local farmer rents the land. We have restored an 1846 Federal style home since moving in May of 2000. You can read more about the last 3 years at:
